Karl Biedermann (sculptor)
Karl Biedermann (* 1947 in Berlin ) is a German sculptor and artist .
Life
Karl Biedermann grew up in the eastern part of Berlin and began an apprenticeship as a plasterer in 1963 . In 1968 he was involved in building up the art form department of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin . From 1970 he studied sculpture at the Dresden University of Fine Arts a . a. with Walter Arnold and at the Art Academy Berlin-Weißensee a . a. with Werner Stötzer and has been working as a freelance sculptor and artist since 1978. He lives and works in Berlin.

- Meyerhold stele for Vsevolod Emiljewitsch Meyerhold (1983), since 1996 in the Ludwig Museum for International Art in Beijing
- Resistance stone relief (1984), since 1990 in the garden of the Protestant Gethsemane Church in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg
- Bronze torso For Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1988), since 1997 on the west side of the Protestant Zion Church in Berlin-Mitte; a second version is in front of the Elisabeth Church in Wroclaw (1999)
- Memorial The abandoned room on Koppenplatz in Berlin-Mitte for the deported Jews of the quarter (1996)
- Memorial for Peter Fechter in Berlin-Mitte, Zimmerstrasse (1999)
- Memorial for Chris Gueffroy in Berlin-Baumschulenweg (2003)
- Memorial plaque for Friedrich Weißler in Sachsenhausen concentration camp (2005)
- Relic stele for Clemens August Graf von Galen in the Catholic Church of St. Matthias in Berlin-Schöneberg (2007), based on his earlier plastic Macht (2001)
