Karl Theodor Joseph von Gemmingen

Karl Theodor Joseph von Gemmingen (born June 16, 1780 in Mannheim ; † November 4, 1849 ) was Ministerial Secretary of the Grand Ducal Würzburg , royal Bavarian chamberlain and landlord in Hoffenheim .

Life

He was the eldest son of the writer Otto Heinrich von Gemmingen-Hornberg (1755–1836) and Charlotte Countess von Sickingen (1756–1826). In 1803 he became a legation counselor at the Baden embassy in Vienna , in 1807 he entered the service of the grand ducal Würzburg, where he became councilor and ministerial secretary. He remained in the civil service until his retirement in 1839, at last he was royal Bavarian chamberlain.

In 1832 he married Anna Werr from Würzburg, the oldest sister of the order's founder, Antonia Werr . There were no more descendants from the marriage. His wife died September 1st, 1846, he died in 1849. With him, the Hoffenheim line of the Barons of Gemmingen went out and their property fell to the Treschklinger line.
