Katherine Stewart-Jones (born May 5, 1995 ) is a Canadian cross-country skier .

Career

Stewart-Jones started in Thunder Bay in January 2013 for the first time in the Nor-Am-Cup and finished 13th in the 10 km freestyle. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2013 in Liberec , she came in 58th place over 5 km freestyle, 45th place in skiathlon and 25th place in sprint. Her best results at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2014 in Fiemme Valley were 15th place in the sprint and tenth place in the relay. The following year, she won 14th place in the skiathlon and tenth place in the relay at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty . In the 2015/16 season she came in third and once in second place in the Nor-Am-Cup and thus reached fifth place in the overall standings. In January 2016 she made her debut in Planica in the cross-country skiing world cup , finishing 54th in the sprint. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she won her first Nor Am Cup win in the pursuit race in Rossland . She also came third in the sprint there. In January 2017, she also finished third in the sprint at the Nor Am Cup in Whistler . At the 2017 U23 World Championships in Soldier Hollow , she took 27th place in 10 km freestyle, 24th place in sprint and 21st place in skiathlon. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti were 36th place over 10 km classic and tenth place with the relay. At the end of the season she came in 58th place at the World Cup finals in Québec and third place in the sprint at the Nor Am Cup and at the same time the Canadian Championships in Canmore . She reached second place in the overall ranking of the Nor Am Cup. In the 2017/18 season, she came second twice and third twice in the Nor-Am Cup. In March 2018, she became the Canadian champion in the 30 km mass start race in Thunder Bay and finished seventh in the overall standings of the Nor-Am Cup.

In the 2018/19 season, she won the overall ranking of the Nor-Am Cup with three first and third places and five second places. Her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol were 28th place in the 30 km mass start race and 12th place with the relay. In the following season she also won the overall ranking of the Nor-Am Cup with three first, two second and one third place. In addition, she won the Alpine Cup in Pragelato over 5 km freestyle and got her first World Cup points with 29th place on the ski tour.
