Pragelato ( Occitan Pratjalat , Piedmontese Pragelà , French Traverses-en-Pragelas ) is a municipality in the Italian metropolitan city of Turin (TO), Piedmont region .
The municipality consists of the districts of La Ruà, Allevè, Chezal, Duc, Grand Puy, Granges, Jousseaud, Laval, Pattemouche, Plan, Rif, Rivets, Seytes, Troncea, Souchéres Basses, Souchère Haute, Traverses, Villardamond, Val Tronche and Tronchée . The neighboring communities are Exilles , Oulx , Salbertrand , Usseaux , Fenestrelle , Sauze d'Oulx , Massello , Sestriere , Sauze di Cesana , Salza di Pinerolo and Prali .
geography
The place is about 82 km from Turin at an altitude of 1,518 m above sea level in the upper part of the Val Chisone . The municipality covers an area of 88 km².
economy
The main occupation of the residents of the community is tourism , whereby both winter sports enthusiasts and hikers are addressed in the summer months. The agriculture plays a subordinate role to mention here is the production of honey . Traditionally, livestock is also practiced in the area.
Sports
During the Olympic Winter Games 2006 , the competitions in the Nordic ski disciplines took place here.
