The Kazumura Cave in Hawaii is 68 kilometers long and the deepest lava tube in the world at 1101 meters . It also holds several US cave records.

The cave is located on the eastern slope of Kīlauea , currently the most active volcano on the main island of Hawaii. The cave was created around 300 to 500 years ago. It was only in the 1990s that it was recognized that several known caves are to be regarded as parts of the large contiguous cave system of the Kazumura Cave . Kazumura is not very well developed for tourists , but guided tours and cave hikes are offered by appointment.
