Kent-Erik Andersson (born May 24, 1951 in Örebro ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who was active in his active time from 1970 to 1986 for the Minnesota North Stars and New York Rangers in the National Hockey League .

Career

Kent-Erik Andersson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of Örebro IK , for whose first team he made his debut in the then second-rate Division 2 in the 1970/71 season. Then the attacker played for six years for the professional team of Färjestad BK , first in Division 1, and from 1975 in Sweden's new top division, the Elitserien . With his team he failed in 1976 and 1977 two times in a row in the playoff finals for the championship. In the 1976/77 season he was also awarded the guldpucken as Player of the Year.

The national player then moved to the Minnesota North Stars in the National Hockey League , for which he was on the ice for a total of five years from 1977 to 1982. In the following two seasons Andersson went to the New York Rangers in the NHL. He then let his career end with his ex-club Färjestad BK, with which he was Swedish champion at the end of his career in 1986 .

International

For Sweden Andersson took part in the world championships in 1977 and 1978 , and in 1981 in the Canada Cup . He played a total of 25 international matches in which he scored nine goals and gave two assists. He also received twelve penalty minutes.
