Klaus A. Maier

Klaus Autbert Maier (* 1940 in Friedrichshafen ) is a German officer ( Colonel retired) and military historian .

Life

Maier was in 1970 at the Department of History-Geography at the University of Tübingen with a dissertation The inscriptions of the district Saulgau to Dr. phil. PhD. The reporters of the work were Hansmartin Decker-Hauff and Klaus Schreiner . He was head of the research area "German Military History after 1945" at the Military History Research Office (MGFA) in Freiburg im Breisgau . As a colonel in the Air Force , he retired. In particular, the investigation into the air strike on Guernica created many false claims by officers' memoirs on the basis of the files.
