Klaus R. Schroeter

Klaus R. Schroeter (born December 14, 1959 in Schwerte ) is a German sociologist who taught as an adjunct professor at Kiel University . Since 2013 he has been professor for social work and old age at the Olten site at the University of Social Work at the Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences .

Schroeter studied sociology, education and psychology at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Kiel from 1981 to 1987 , where he was a student and later research assistant to Lars Clausen . It was there that he received his doctorate in 1993 and completed his habilitation in 2003.

Until his appointment as professor (2009) he was a lecturer at the University of Kiel, the Kiel University of Applied Sciences and the Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg. His research areas are: general sociology and sociological theories; Sociology of Age / Social Gerontology ; Body sociology , medicine and health sociology ; Sociology of nursing.

In 2015 he gave the volume My Introduction to Sociology together with Jan-Frederik Bandel . 15 lectures in free speech , which includes the last series of lectures by Lars Clausen.
