The Kozan Dam ( Turkish Kozan Barajı ) was built in the years 1967-1972 on Kilgen Çayı , a tributary of the Ceyhan , in the southern Turkish province of Adana .
The dam is located 7 km north of the district town of Kozan on the southern flank of the Taurus Mountains . Its main purpose is the irrigation of an area of 10,177 ha. The barrier structure is a 78.5 m high stone embankment . The dam volume is 1.74 million m³. The reservoir covers an area of 6.4 km² and has a storage volume of 170 million m³.
