Léon Gastinel
Léon Gastinel (born August 15, 1823 in Villers-les-Pots , Côte-d'Or , † October 18, 1906 in Fresnes , Val-de-Marne ) was a French composer .
Leon Gastinel studied composition with Jacques Fromental Halévy at the Paris Conservatory and received the Grand Prix de Rome in 1846 for the cantata Velasquez . He mainly turned to choral and orchestral composition, in which he has achieved significant things: three large masses (one only with a female choir), two symphonies , four oratorios .
