Lacao ( Lação , Lasaun ) is an East Timorese suco in the Atsabe administrative office ( Ermera municipality ).

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Lacao had an area of ​​4.36 km². Now it is 7.32 km². The Suco is located in the southwest of the Atsabe administrative office. To the north is the Suco Batu Mano , east of the Suco Atara , south of the Suco Obulo and west of the Suco Laubono .

The east of Lacao is crossed by the country road that leads from Atsabe to Bobonaro in the south. The towns of Taiubu ( Tai-ubu ) and a little to the west of the Ataubu , Nunumea and Aiabe road are located on it . In Ataubu there is a medical station and the primary school Escola Primaria Lasaun .

The four Aldeias Aiabe , Ataubu , Nunumea and Taiubu are located in the Suco .

Residents

The Suco has 2,041 inhabitants (2015), 988 of whom are men and 1,053 women. The population density is 278.7 inhabitants / km². There are 381 households in the Suco. Over 97% of the population name Kemak as their mother tongue. Minorities speak Tetum Prasa or Habun .

history

On August 23, 2009, the Sucos Lacao and Atara ended a decade-long hostility with an official peace ceremony.

politics

In the elections of 2004/2005 was Fernanda da Cunha elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Agustinho Claudio M. Fontes won .
