Ladislav Rygl (born May 15, 1976 in Vrchlabí , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech Nordic combined skier .

Career

Ladislav Rygl was a professional combiner between 1995 and 2006 and for a long time by far the most successful athlete in his country. Rygl achieved three World Cup victories in his career and was on the podium 13 times.

At the Junior World Championships in 1995 in Gällivare , Sweden , he won the silver medal with the Czech team. From 1999 to 2001 he was one of the most constant athletes in the World Cup and was able to achieve and jump numerous top 10 placements during this time. His strength lay (especially towards the end of his career) in the cross-country ski run. At a major event, however, Rygl never really showed exceptional performance; the 6th place at the World Championships in Lahti was by far his best result. In 2006 he ended his active career.

Ladislav Rygl is the son of the former combiner Ladislav Rygl , who won a gold medal for Czechoslovakia in 1970.
