The Landesbetrieb Bau und Immobilien Hessen (LBIH) is a state enterprise in accordance with Section 26 of the State Budget Code, which was founded on January 1, 2016.

The LBIH was created by merging the previous Landesbetriebe Hessisches Immobilienmanagement (HI) and Hessisches Baumanagement (hbm) and has taken over their tasks and responsibilities. Its seat is Wiesbaden . In addition to its headquarters in Wiesbaden, the LBIH has branches in Kassel, Fulda, Gießen, Wiesbaden, Frankfurt and Darmstadt.

The LBIH is subject to the service and technical supervision of the Hessian Ministry of Finance . In the execution of federal construction tasks, technical supervision is the responsibility of the responsible federal ministries and the federal construction department of the Frankfurt am Main regional finance office .
