The regional court of Reichenhall was a Bavarian regional court of the older order that existed from 1803 to 1879 and was based in the city of Bad Reichenhall , then Reichenhall.

history

Reichenhall already had a regional court and nursing court in the Duchy of Bavaria .

In 1802 the so-called regional courts older order were set up in the Kingdom of Bavaria , including the regional court Reichenhall. From 1810 to 1816, the judicial district also included Salzburg municipalities such as today's Großgmain and the entire judicial district of the previous Salzburg nursing court Lofer . In 1818, the district court of Reichenhall was expanded to include the municipalities of Högl, Piding and Stoißberg (today: Anger) from the district of the then district court of Teisendorf . (The Teisendorf Regional Court was dissolved at that time and its judicial district was mainly assigned to the Laufen Regional Court , which had lost a large part of its jurisdiction due to the Congress of Vienna .)

The "Regional Court of the Elderly Order", located in Reichenhall, was a state administrative unit of the lower level until 1862, with administrative tasks similar to today's districts . At the same time, the regional court of the older order was also the judicial organ of the lower jurisdiction and thus the entrance instance of the ordinary jurisdiction , comparable to today's district court . But it also performed tasks of the higher judiciary (like today's regional courts ) and performed notarial activities.

In 1862 there was a separation of justice and administration in the Kingdom of Bavaria, and the tasks of the regional courts were divided into the district office (administration) and the district court (justice). In the same year, through the merger of the regional courts of the older order Reichenhall and Berchtesgaden, the district office of Berchtesgaden and, while retaining the catchment areas of the former regional courts, the district courts of Reichenhall and Berchtesgaden , of which the Reichenhall court, however, until the entry into force of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, the designation " District Court ”continued. The unchanged court district of the Reichenhall District Court thus also included the communities Aufham , Bayerisch Gmain , Högl , Jettenberg , Karlstein , Marzoll , Piding , (Bad) Reichenhall, Ristfeucht , Stoißberg , Weißbach and Sankt Zeno in 1879 .
