Lilly Kilvert (* 14. October 1950 as Elizabeth D. Kilvert in Providence , Rhode Iceland , United States ) is an American film architect .

Live and act

Elizabeth "Lilly" Kilvert received her artistic training at New York's Lester Polokov School of Set Design. Then she made contacts with the stage and film. Since 1977 she has worked as a film architect. Initially, Lilly Kilvert participated in the production of several outsider and debut films by directors such as Claudia Weill , Susan Seidelman and Kathryn Bigelow .

She later also designed the film structures for expensive mainstream productions such as the Wolfgang Petersen thriller In the Line of Fire , the adaptation of Arthur Miller's witch hunt , the remake of Wim Wenders ' Der Himmel über Berlin , Stadt der Engel and the two Tom Cruise - large-scale productions Last Samurai and Operation Walküre - Das Stauffenberg-Assentat .

Lilly Kilvert received an Oscar nomination for her designs on Legends of Passion and Last Samurai .
