criticism

The e-zine Laut.de rated Liquid Swords with five out of a possible five points in its “Milestones” section. From the editor's point of view, Stefan Johannesberg, the “ boundaries between film and music are blurred on the album . “While the listener is listening to “ the story of the samurai's fight against the evil ninjas ”, seconds later“ GZA aka The Genius verbally heads all fake emcees. "For the first song, RZA samples its way through the sounds of 60s soul producer Willie Mitchell " and condenses the " loops [...] so extremely that the sound hums and rumble. “The“ neck breakersLiving In The World Today and Gold are followed by four timeless“ hip-hop classics ”which, like no other“ quartet of rap killer tracks ”,“ decompose intestines and cells so closely and coherently. “The song labels is a“ prime example of the well thought-out syllables ”of GZAs. After twelve pieces in which “ GZA painted the Wu world black ”, the rapper leads the listener “into the (day) light ” with Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth . "
