Lisburn and Castlereagh ( Irish Ceantar Lios na gCearrbhach agus an Chaisleáin Riabhaigh ) is a district in Northern Ireland . It was formed on April 1, 2015 from the city of Lisburn and the Borough Castlereagh , but excluding the places Ballyhanwood (partially), Belvoir, Colin Glen, Cregagh, Downshire, Dunmurry Village, Edenderry, Galwally, Glencregagh, Hillfoot, Kilwee, Lagmore , Lisnasharragh, Lower Braniel, Merok, Minnowburn, Poleglass, Twinbrook, Tullycarnet, Upper Braniel and Wynchurch. These parishes were slammed into the District of Belfast . It is administered by the Lisburn and Castlereagh District Council .

The new district includes several of the suburbs of Belfast and has 93,056 voters. The name was set on September 17, 2008.

administration

The Lisburn and Castlereagh District Council replaced the Lisburn City Council and the Castlereagh Borough Council . The first elections for the District Council were supposed to take place in May 2009, but 25 April 2008 announced Shaun Woodward , Minister of Northern Ireland that the elections in 2011 were postponed. The first elections actually took place on May 22, 2014.
