The list of train stations in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen contains all existing and former train stations in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen , which is made up of the two municipalities of Bremen and Bremerhaven . The first Bremen train station was opened in 1847, the first train stations in what is now Bremerhaven's urban area followed in 1862 (in what was then Geestemünde ) and 1896 (in what was then Lehe ).

State of Bremen

In the state of Bremen there are 23 operated train stations with passenger traffic, of which 18 are completely barrier-free (as of 2014). The feasibility of seven new stations is to be checked according to the traffic development plan (VEP).

Bremen

The first station in Bremen was opened in 1847 as the Hanover station for the Wunstorf – Bremen line. This station was demolished in 1889 in favor of the Centralbahnhof . Since 1847 there was also a train station in Sebaldsbrück . In 1862 a continuous line from Bremen to Geestemünde was opened. The Weserbahnhof followed as a freight station in 1857/1859.

The Hauptbahnhof Bremen from 1891, formerly Central Station or Staatsbahnhof called, the main train station is the city of Bremen and the city of Bremen as a country. It was planned by Hubert Stier . The Hamburger Bahnhof was demolished afterwards.

Bremerhaven

In Geestemünde, the first train station in today's Bremerhaven was built in 1862 for the new railway line to Bremen . In 1896 the railway line to Cuxhaven was expanded, with stops in Lehe and Speckenbüttel, as well as a branch line to Bederkesa , which has served as a museum railway since 1990. The existing train station in Lehe dates from 1914.

The Hauptbahnhof Bremerhaven , from 1 July 1914 the station Geestemünde - Bremerhaven , is the main station of the maritime city of Bremerhaven . It was created in 1913/14 and replaced the old Geestemünder station from 1862 for the Geestebahn , which became a freight station.

Small train Bremen – Tarmstedt

  1. The Bremer Parkbahnhof of the Kleinbahn Bremen – Tarmstedt , also called Kleinbahn Jan Reiners , was located on the site of today's town hall . It operated from 1900 to 1956 and was demolished in 1960.
  2. The Bremen Hemmstrasse train station in Bremen-Findorff
  3. The Borgfeld stop on the Wümmedeich on the Bremen side in Borgfeld was in operation from 1900 to 1956; one building is still preserved.
    Hanover station from 1847
  4. The Bremen-Horn stop in Horn was in operation from 1900 to 1956 and had a small inn. Today the entire building is used as a restaurant.

  2. The Hannoversche Bahnhof was built until 1847 according to plans by building officer Mohr and Alexander Schröder . It stood on the site of what is now the main train station in Bremen. It had a classicist central section with triangular gables and two side towers. Trees, paths and lanterns formed the forecourt of the station. It was demolished in 1885 and to the east of it today's Centralbahnhof was built until 1889 .

  3. Farge-Ost was a station of the Farge-Vegesacker Railway and the terminus of the Niederweserbahn

  5. The Neustadt train station in 1867 in neo-Gothic style in the Town of Oldenburg railway built. It was replaced by a brick building in 1931. It has been preserved as a breakpoint.
  6. Bahnhof Bremen-Huchting at the railway Bremen-Oldenburg
  7. The Venloer Bahnhof or Hamburger Bahnhof was built in 1873 on the Bürgerweide Bremen for the Hamburg - Venlo or Osnabrück railway line . In 1889 the station was demolished in connection with the construction of the main station.
    Weserbahnhof
  8. The Weserbahnhof was a freight yard in the Bremen free port built in 1857/1859 for the extension of the railway line from Hanover to Bremen from 1848 in the direction of the free port. The station was taken over by the Bremer Lagerhaus-Gesellschaft in 1929 and destroyed in the Second World War. After 1945 it was rebuilt and changed. Its outbuildings served the Kellogg's company until 2019 and have since been demolished. The Weser Tower is now near the former train station.

Bremerhaven

  1. The Geestemünder station stood from 1862 to 1913 and was demolished in the course of the construction of today's Bremerhaven Central Station
  2. The inland customs station in Bremerhaven was a freight and marshalling yard for the imperial ports from 1896.
  3. Wulsdorf-Süd station and Wulsdorf-West stop on the former Niederweserbahn
