The list of sacred buildings in Iserlohn describes Protestant churches that belong to the Protestant parish of Iserlohn in the Iserlohn city area , Roman Catholic churches that are part of the pastoral associations of Iserlohn- Mitte, Iserlohn-Nord, Iserlohn-Schapker Tal and Letmathe in the dean's office of Märkisches Sauerland of the Archdiocese of Paderborn are united, as well as churches and houses of other Christian communities and other religions.

Iserlohn, Am Bilstein 14 Evangelical Reconciliation Parish The Oberste Stadtkirche, formerly also called Marienkirche, was built from a chapel of Cosmas and Damian from the 14th century. The current building dates from the 15th century. The hall church is Gothic with Romanesque remains. The church has remarkable art treasures, including a Gothic altarpiece created by the master of Iserlohn named after him . It was the parish church of the townspeople.

Iserlohn, Am Zeughaus 7 (Fritz-Kühn-Platz) Evangelical Reconciliation Parish The history of the church, also known as St. Pankratius in earlier centuries, begins around 985. It was originally the parish church, d. H. the parish church of the rural population around the city. After the Second World War, the peasant church was a garrison church of the British occupying forces until 1957 . A renovation took place in the 1960s. On June 20, 1983, the building was listed as a historical monument. The church building is the oldest building in the city of Iserlohn. The tower has a height of about 60 meters.
Reformed Church (Open City Church)

reformed Church Iserlohn, Wermingser Strasse 9 Evangelical Reconciliation Parish The church in the pedestrian zone of Iserlohn is part of the “Open Churches” initiative in the Evangelical Church of Westphalia. A historic Schulze organ is located in the so-called Open City Church . This was built in 1847 by Johann Friedrich Schulze . Another special feature of the church is the pulpit located in the middle of the altar. A bronze plaque is placed above the southern entrance to the church, on which 40 coats of arms of the former Prussian ruling house from 1701 can be seen. The history of the Reformed Church can be traced back to the year 1710 as the only Evangelical Reformed church in the old Iserlohn city area.

Christ Church Iserlohn- Roden , Lösseler Strasse 12 Christ Parish Iserlohn In the church, consecrated in 1937, there is an organ made by Furtwängler und Hammer, which was purchased in 1937 for 5,680 Reichsmarks .
Brunnenkirche
Brunnenkirche Iserlohn- Lössel , Brunnenweg 8 Christ Parish Iserlohn The current church building was erected in 1981 next to a well. The location of the church and the biblical meaning of fountain were included in the naming. Since 1983 there has been an organ in the church made by the organ building company Tzschöckel from Althütte -Fautspach with four registers.

Church of the Resurrection Iserlohn- Dahlsen , Dahlsener Strasse Christ Parish Iserlohn The church was consecrated on November 19, 1966. Two years earlier, planning for the construction of the church had begun.

The Church of the Redeemer was inaugurated on October 20, 1957 by the President of the Protestant Church of Westphalia, D. Ernst Wilm .

Johanneskirche Iserlohn-Nussberg, Berliner Platz 10 Johannes parish Iserlohn The foundation stone for the construction of the church took place on September 24, 1959. On November 6, 1960, it was consecrated. The church on Berliner Platz was built according to plans by the architect Ernst Dossmann . The window walls were also designed according to his designs. The outer walls of the church are predominantly rust-red-brown in the Pompeian style, while the supporting elements are silver-gray. Above the main entrance there is a sgraffito by the sword artist Edith Prutz-Güth (* 1928 in Unna, † March 8, 2008). The Ott organ, comprising 18 registers, was built in on the outside arched over a corner. There is a solar power system on the church roof . The 40 meter high bell tower stands free and is connected to the church building by a pergola.
Kreuzkirche
Kreuzkirche Iserlohn- Sümmern , Kirschbütenweg 10 Maria Magdalena parish Iserlohn In 1967 construction began on the Kreuzkirche. On December 23, 1967, the inauguration took place by the President of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia, Julius Ewald Ernst Wilm . The Kreuzkirche has only been part of the Maria Magdalena parish of Iserlohn since January 1st, 1995. In 1999 additions and alterations were made to the church building. The rebuilt church was consecrated on December 19, 1999.
Martin Luther King House
Martin Luther King House Iserlohn- Iserlohner Heide , Leckingser Straße 99 Maria Magdalena parish Iserlohn The Martin Luther King House was built in 1970 according to plans by the Iserlohn architect Ernst Dossmann . In 1979 the free-standing bell tower was built. The carved wooden winged altar (inaugurated in 1985) and the pulpit in the Martin Luther King House were made by the sculptor Gordon Brown .
Friedenskirche

Friedenskirche Iserlohn- Letmathe , Friedensstrasse 11 Letmathe Evangelical Church On November 10, 1957, the Peace Church Letmathe was inaugurated by the President of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia, Julius Ewald Ernst Wilm , the foundation stone was laid on July 23, 1955. The nave is 32 meters long and 12 meters wide. Including the gallery, the church has a capacity of around 600 seats. A large-scale photovoltaic system for generating solar power has been located on the roof of the Friedenskirche since 2006. The previous church of the Protestant parish Letmathe was consecrated in March 1877, this building was only demolished in 1974.
Kreuzkapelle
Kreuzkapelle Stübbeken Iserlohn- Stübbeken , Rosenstrasse 38 Letmathe Evangelical Church The Kreuzkapelle was built according to plans by the architect Paul Gottschalk. The 18 meter high tower ends with a monopitch roof. The church window design was the responsibility of the artist Paul Gerhardt, who also designed the cross on the front wall inside the church. The baptismal font in the cross chapel and the bells of the tower were previously in the old Protestant church that was demolished in 1974. At Pentecost 1961, the Kreuzkapelle was inaugurated. The Stübbeker Kreuzkapelle is part of the Open Church Initiative .

Advent Church Dröschede
Advent Church Iserlohn- Dröschede , Rauhe Hardt 1 Parish of Oestrich-Dröschede The Advent church was built in 1960, the foundation stone was laid on August 5, 1960. The topping-out ceremony was on October 8, 1960. The designs for the construction of a so-called roof church came from the architect couple Barbara and Wolfgang Vogt from Kiel. The church room, which had about 150 seats, was completely under the slope of the wooden roof. The bell tower stood somewhat apart from the church building and had a gable roof that was pulled down almost to the ground. On December 8, 1960, the church was opened by senior church councilor Dr. Niemann inaugurated. The Advent church was demolished in 2015 as part of austerity measures.

Johanneskirche Iserlohn- Hennen , Ohler Weg 1 Evangelical parish of Hennen The Johanneskirche Hennen is a Romanesque, single-nave church complex with two-bay vaults and a transept, which was built from rubble stone in the second half of the 12th century. The west tower of the church and the ceiling paintings, which were made according to the scheme of the Soest painting school, date from the 13th century.
James Church
James Church Iserlohn- Kalthof Evangelical parish of Hennen The Jakobuskirche was built in 1966. The foundation stone was laid on October 3, 1965. It was built according to plans by the architect Ernst Dossmann . By Oberkirchenrat Dr. Danielsmeyer, the church was consecrated on November 27, 1966. On November 29, 1992, a two-manual Tzschöckel organ with 15 stops and a pedal is inaugurated. Before that there was only one electronic organ.

Holy Spirit Iserlohn , Hans-Böckler-Strasse 48 / Weststrasse 3 Iserlohn-Mitte The Holy Spirit Church was consecrated in 1940. On April 1, 1950, the Holy Spirit was made a parish. After the Second World War, a Stockmann organ (Werl) with 36 registers was built in three construction phases from 1953 to 1963 . In 1967 the 34 meter high bell tower (campanile) was built, a few meters from the church.
Most Holy Trinity

Most Holy Trinity Iserlohn, Schulstrasse 33 Iserlohn-Mitte The building, with a crypt under the choir, was built according to plans by the architect Otto Weicken from Unna. The glass windows Dreifaltigkeit (1958) and Faith, Hope, Love (1962) are by Irmgart Wessel-Zumloh . The font is a work by the sculptor Wilhelm Hausmann from Menden .
St. Aloysius

St. Aloysius Iserlohn, Hohler Weg 42 Iserlohn-Mitte The neo-Romanesque, three-aisled column basilica was consecrated in 1894. It is the seat of the pastoral network.
Sacred Heart Church
Sacred Heart Church Iserlohn-Hennen , Schöneberger Strasse 1 Iserlohn-North On August 4, 1901, the foundation stone was laid in the Helle. The church was consecrated the following year. In 1978 the church in der Helle was replaced by a new building on Schöneberger Strasse. The foundation stone of the old church was taken over into the new church . The Herz-Jesu-Kirche forms together with St. Peter and Paul the parish vicarie Hennen / Kalthof. Hennen was raised to the parish vicarie on March 15, 1940.
St. Peter and Paul
St. Peter and Paul Iserlohn-Kalthof , Schüttholzweg Iserlohn-North The architect, graduate engineer Otto Weicken from Iserlohn was responsible for planning the church. On May 26th, 1968 the dean Friedrich Meckel laid the foundation stone. Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Paul Nordhues consecrated the church on May 31, 1969. St. Peter and Paul together with the Herz-Jesu-Kirche form the parish vicarie Hennen / Kalthof.
St. Gertrudis
St. Gertrudis Iserlohn-Sümmern , Gertrudisstrasse 5 Iserlohn-North St. Gertrudis was built in the classicist style in 1832 as a single-nave church. In 1895 the building was extended with a transept. Further extensions and renovations took place in the 20th century.
St. Hedwig
St. Hedwig Iserlohn, Hedwigsplatz 3 Iserlohn-Schapker Valley St. Hedwig was built in 1962. The planning architects were Franz and Karl-Heinz Vedder from Menden. A Stockmann organ with 15 registers is located above the main entrance.
St. Michaelskirche Gerlingsen
Ecumenical Pastoral Care Center St. Michael Iserlohn, Am Sonnink 15 Iserlohn-Schapker Valley St. Michael is a heptagonal brick building. The Paderborn Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Paul Nordhues consecrated the church building on December 22, 1968 as a Catholic church. Today both the Catholic and Protestant church services take place there.
St. Joseph
St. Joseph Iserlohn, Friedrich-Kaiser-Strasse 28 Iserlohn-Schapker Valley There were already building plans in 1969. Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Paul Nordhues took place on 28 September 1974, the consecration of the church and the community center. A September 1984 by Dr. Nordhue's consecrated Stockmann organ with 21 registers replaced an organ with eight registers that came from the previous church.
St. Kilian

St. Kilian Iserlohn-Letmathe , Dechant-Heimann-Straße 3 Letmathe From 1914 to 1917 St. Kilian was built from Westhofen quarry stone as a neo-Gothic hall church and was consecrated in 1917. It is believed that parts of the previous church, which was demolished in 1914 and stood on the site of the current church, were built before the 14th century. Today's St. Kilian's Church is the largest hall church in the Märkisches Kreis and the seat of the pastoral network.
St. Joseph
St. Joseph Iserlohn-Stübbeken Letmathe Parish Vicarie. The foundation stone for the St. Josef Church in Stübbeken was laid in June 1955. The topping-out ceremony was in December of the same year. Dr. Lorenz Jaeger , Archbishop of Paderborn, consecrated the church in May 1957. In 1981 St. Josef was renovated. The parish of St. Josef is owned by the Stalingrad Madonna , the original of which hangs in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin.
Heart of jesus
Heart of jesus Iserlohn-Grüner , Untergrüner Strasse 192 Letmathe In 1905 the Green became a parish. The church was built at the beginning of the 19th century according to plans by the Düsseldorf architect Caspar Clemens Pickel . In 1918 the architect Josef Lehmkühler started planning the expansion. The next expansion plans were made in 1955 by Aloys Dietrich from Paderborn. In 1977 a redesign and renovation by the Hemeraner architect Hermann-Josef Geismann took place . In 2005 the church received a Stockmann organ (Werl).
Lasbeck
Mary Queen Lasbeck Letmathe In December 1961 construction began on the church. The consecration took place at Easter 1964. Maria Königin is a branch church in the parish Herz Jesu Grüne. The design of the church building comes from the Letmath architect Günter Schulte. The church was built on a steep hillside on rock with enormous concrete foundations and supports. It has three pyramid roofs , which are located above the tower, the main aisle and the aisle. The church windows were made to designs by the Iserlohn artist Irmgart Wessel-Zumloh , with the exception of the thick glass windows in the tower. These were created by Wilhelm Hausmann from Menden.
St. Mary of the Assumption
St. Mary of the Assumption Iserlohn-Oestrich , Vodekestrasse 5 Letmathe St. Mary's Assumption was founded on September 21, 1917 by Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Consecrated to Hähling von Lanzenauer. After a bomb attack in April 1942, the church building was badly damaged and was provisionally rebuilt in 1942/1943. In 1964 there was a fundamental redesign. The church tower is 45 meters high and ends with a pyramid-shaped spire that is copper-plated. On it is a 3.50 meter high cross on a ball.
