List of members of the United Nations Security Council
The list of members of the United Nations Security Council shows in chronological order all the members of the United Nations Security Council since its first meeting on November 17, 1946. In addition to five permanent members, the so-called UNO veto powers , there are ten seats (six seats until 1965) to changing non-permanent members every two years. Japan (22 years), Brazil (20 years) and Argentina (18 years) have the longest duration as a non-permanent member .
