The song title alludes to the number of the Italian telephone crisis service Telefono Azzurro at the time, which campaigns for the protection of children's rights. Concato donated the proceeds of the song to the organization.
By participating in the Sanremo Festival in 1989 , the Italian cabaret artist achieved the second number one hit in a year. The song went straight to number one, although it only managed to reach seventh place in the final ranking of the festival; the winning song Ti lascerò by Fausto Leali and Anna Oxa , on the other hand, did not get past fourth place in the charts.
