List of the districts of Freitals
The list of the districts of Freital gives an overview of the 15 districts of the large district town of Freital in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains .
description
The large district town of Freital consists of fifteen districts. The city was created through the merger of the three communities Deuben , Döhlen and Potschappel on October 1, 1921. For this reason there is no city center or core city in Freital. Potschappel is usually given as the city center, since the majority of the city administration and the mayor have their seat in the Potschappl town hall . The town hall in Deuben is also used by the city administration. The three founding communities are also the first three districts of Freetal.
Shortly after the amalgamation and the founding of the city, three other districts were incorporated, Zauckerode in 1922, Birkigt in 1923 and Burgk with suburbs in 1924. Hainsberg followed a long time later . The first district to be added in the 1970s was Saalhausen , which was incorporated in 1973 . In 1974 Kleinnaundorf , Somsdorf , Weißig and Wurgwitz followed . So far the last incorporated place is Pesterwitz, incorporated in 1999 . On March 1, 2011 Niederhäslich and Schweinsdorf also became districts.
As a result of the incorporation, the area of the city increased to 40.45 km² (2016).
