This is a list of the territorial disputes that have continued to this day, i.e. conflicting territorial claims between states or other areas.

Note on the list:
Bold type means complete rule, italicized partial rule.

Disputes between political entities with a claim to the state that do not recognize each other

Antarctic

The Antarctic Treaty of December 1, 1959, which came into force on June 23, 1961, forms the framework for the administration of the Antarctic through agreements and conferences. It freezes all territorial claims of the countries to Antarctic areas as long as the treaty is valid and the country is a contracting party (any country can withdraw at any time).
