List of Slovenian exonyms for German toponyms

In this list , places in the German-speaking area (or in German-speaking countries) (cities, rivers, islands, etc.) are compared with the names that are common in Slovenian . This refers to places in Germany , Austria and Switzerland . In Austria these are partly (“real”) exonyms , partly Slovenian endonyms in areas where the Slovenes form an autochthonous ethnic group or where Slovenian is still the (second) official language .

Historical terms that are no longer used in Slovenian (but in historical use) are shown in italics .
