Logistics Performance Index
The Logistics Performance Index is a data set published by the World Bank for the first time in 2007 and every two years since 2010. It is divided into the six categories of customs (efficiency of the authority), infrastructure , international shipping, logistics services, traceability and punctuality. The scores of the individual categories are aggregated to a total number using a weighted average, which results in a ranking of the countries examined.
In the weighted average of the best values from 2010 to 2016 were Germany , Netherlands and Singapore , while Haiti , Syria and Somalia were the worst.
While there was a slight convergence between the leading and weakest nations between 2007 and 2014, this trend was reversed for the first time after the 2016 survey.
methodology
The data is collected by means of a survey among logistics service providers. The survey was carried out by the World Bank in collaboration with the University of Turku .
