Loilubo ( Loilubu ) is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Vemasse ( municipality of Baucau ).

Before the 2015 regional reform, Loilubo had an area of ​​22.24 km². Now there are 19.75 km². The Suco Loilubo is to the east of the administrative office of Vemasse. To the northwest lies the Suco Uato-Lari and west of the Suco Ossouala . In the northeast, Loilubo borders on the Baucau administrative office with its Suco Gariuai and in the east and southeast on the Venilale administrative office with its sucos Uma Ana Ico , Baha Mori and Fatulia . The river Vemasse with its tributaries, the Suni and the Cuho, flows through the south of the Sucos .

The larger settlements are in the north of the Sucos. The largest place is Uaidau ( Waidau ). To the north lies Nunoti , south of Caitaranau ( Cai Tara Nau ). In Waidau there is a medical station and the Escola Primaria Loilubo elementary school .

The three Aldeias Caitaranau , Nunoti and Uaidau are located in the Suco .

Residents

The Suco has 1282 inhabitants (2015), 664 of whom are men and 618 women. The population density is 64.9 inhabitants / km². There are 280 households in the Suco. Over 95% speak the “mountain dialect” of Waimaha , which is one of the Kawaimina languages , as their mother tongue . They are recognized as the national language of East Timor . Small minorities speak Tetum Prasa , Galoli or Kairui, which also belongs to the Kawaimina languages .

At the end of 1979 there was an Indonesian camp in Loilubo for East Timorese who were to be relocated by the occupiers for better control.

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Abílio Belo was elected Chefe de Suco. Liborio António dos Santos won the elections in 2009 and Angelo da Costa Freitas won in 2016 .
