Lolosruhe is called a 573.8 m above sea level. NHN high mountain pass in the Haardt , part of the Palatinate Forest in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is located in the Gommersberg Forest, an exclave of the district of Gommersheim .

Lolosruhe is located in the Palatinate Forest-Vosges du Nord biosphere reserve and in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park . It forms the saddle between the Morschenberg ( 608.3 m ) in the northeast and the Steigerkopf ( 613.6 m ) in the southwest. The pass enables on the one hand the transition from the Edenkobener valley in the southeast to the valley of the Modenbach in the south as a road connection and on the other hand that from the Edenkobener valley to the valley of the Argenbach via the Kleyertal in the northwest as a hiking trail connection. The Ritterstein 238 Lolosruhe - five stones is located at the pass .
Flowing waters
The sour milk valley with the sour milk fountain, located southeast of Lolosruhe, flows into the Edenkoben valley with the Triefenbach , which flows into the Upper Rhine Plain , after about one kilometer . Below the pass in a north-westerly direction the Kleyenbach rises, which flows into the Argenbach after about one kilometer . This eventually drains into the Speyerbach near Breitenstein .
Streets
From the Edenkobener valley leading county road 6 of Steiger head to Lolosruhe and from there on the northern slope of the municipality Edenkoben belonging living space on Forsthaus Heldenstein . Here is the pass from Modenbachtal to Kleyental. The road then runs through the valley of the Modenbach to Burrweiler back in the Upper Rhine Plain. A bus line has been set up across the street, mainly in summer and on weekends, with a bus stop also at Lolosruhe. There is also a parking lot for hikers on the mountain pass .
history
The name Lolosruhe could refer to the lover of the Bavarian King Ludwig I. Lola Montez . The Villa Ludwigshöhe Palace is not far away, so Ludwig I could have stayed here with her.
Hiking and refuges
The Lolosruhe is a path junction ( path spider ) in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park . Hiking trails such as the Franconia-Hessen-Kurpfalz long-distance hiking trail lead over the Morschenberg ( 608.3 m ), Schafkopf ( 616.8 m ) and the Rotsohlberg ( 607.1 m ) to the Totenkopf or over the Steigerkopf ( 613.6 m ) with the Schänzelturm to the forester's house Heldenstein. The Kesselberg ( 661.8 m ) can also be reached via Benderplatz ( 565.5 m ) . The nearby managed refuge huts of the Palatinate Forest Association are the Edenkobener Hütte at the Hüttenbrunnen , the Totenkopfhütte and the Haus an den Fichten . Other managed huts are the forester's house Heldenstein and the Naturfreundehaus Steigerkopf.
