Lothar Dräger
Lothar Dräger (born January 19, 1927 in Schwennenz ; † July 9, 2016 in Potsdam ) was a German comic and novelist.
Life and accomplishments
Lothar Dräger attended secondary school and then worked as an anti-aircraft helper in Stettin , where he was dismissed as unfit for military service after a serious illness before the end of the war. After the Second World War, he first studied singing at the Klindworth-Scharwenka Conservatory in Berlin, then at the University of Music and became an opera singer . After engagements in Nordhausen and Potsdam , he changed his profession in 1957 and became a copywriter and source of ideas for the comic magazine Mosaik from issue number 9 with Hannes Hegen and later with Wolfgang Altenburger . Dräger researched the historical background of the stories, wrote verses and created exposés for the Digedags , the main characters in the mosaic. In 1958 and 1959 he wrote the mosaic supplement Klaus and Hein tell from the pioneer life .
After the break between the publishing house and "Digedag father" Hannes Hegen in 1975, Lothar Dräger and Lona Rietschel became the spiritual father of the Abrafaxe , who inherited the Digedags. Here he was artistic director, made elevations and even drew some pages himself. He also wrote the script for an Abrafaxe review that was performed in 1980 in the Palast der Republik in East Berlin . On January 1, 1990, he retired. In 2002 his novel Ritter Runkel und seine Zeit was published , in which he followed up the story of Ritter Runkel , which appeared in the Mosaik from 1964 to 1969 and which he had also written. In 2006, 2009 and 2012 he published sequels to this novel.
Lothar Dräger died on July 9, 2016 at the age of 89 in Potsdam.
