Lucjan Antoni Brychczy (born July 13, 1934 in Nowy Bytom (now Ruda Śląska ); called Kici ) is a former Polish football player and football coach.
Club career
He was considered one of the best strikers of the 1950s and 1960s. Brychczy played for the Legia Warsaw army club throughout his career . In 368 games for the capital club, he scored 182 goals. Lucjan Brychczy is a Legia legend and holds some records (most games (452 games in total), most goals (227 total), longest team membership (almost 18 years) and oldest goalscorer (37 years 2 months 31 days)) . Despite offers from u. a. Real Madrid and AC Milan , he was not allowed to move abroad as an officer in the Polish Army.
National team
For Poland , he played 58 international matches and scored 18 goals. He never took part in a World Cup or European Championship because Poland never qualified during this time. In 1960 he took part with the Polish selection at the Olympic Games in Rome .
