Luiz Gustavo , with full name Luiz Gustavo Dias (born July 23, 1987 in Pindamonhangaba ), is a Brazilian soccer player who has also had German citizenship since 2016 . He has been under contract with Fenerbahçe Istanbul since September 2019 . He prefers to play in defensive midfield , but due to his flexibility he can also be used as a left defender and central defender .

In his youth, Luiz Gustavo played at Universal FC Rio Largo until he moved in January 2007 to SC Corinthians Alagoano , a lower-class club from Maceió , the capital of the northeastern Brazilian state of Alagoas . On September 2, 2019, Gustavo moved to Turkey to Fenerbahçe Istanbul .

National team

Luiz Gustavo made his debut for the "Seleção" on August 10, 2011 , when he came on for Ramires in the 86th minute of the 2: 3 defeat in the international test against Germany .
