Economy and Infrastructure
traffic
At the end of March 2014, the last section of the B 464 was inaugurated. The through traffic of Magstadt, which was previously one of the most heavily loaded with 20,000 cars per day in Baden-Württemberg, is thus effectively relieved of through traffic. The southern bypass created as part of the Magstadt traffic concept has also removed all level crossings. At the same time, a truck traffic ban was issued with the exception of delivery traffic for Magstadt. Only the planned eastern bypass is to be built from 2014 to connect the eastern industrial area to the local roads. The original plan was to connect Magstadt to the federal highway 81 . This was replaced by the construction of the B 464 and B 295 . The western bypass started in 2003 is required as an alternative route for the expansion of the A 81 near Böblingen and Sindelfingen.
Magstadt is located on the Rankbachbahn ( Renningen - Böblingen ). After the route, which opened in 1915, had only been used for goods traffic and personnel journeys by Daimler AG for 42 years, its full length was integrated into the Stuttgart S-Bahn in December 2012 as the S60 and, together with the 745 bus, replaces the route between Bus route 757 runs to Renningen and Böblingen. Bus route 745 also runs through the neighboring town of Maichingen . Magstadt is also served by the express bus route X74 ( Weil der Stadt - Ihinger Hof -Magstadt - Büsnau - Stuttgart University ) from the Magstadt company Stäbler. S-Bahn and bus lines are integrated into the Stuttgart Transport and Tariff Association (VVS).

Protestant church
The place Magstadt had a wooden chapel early on and later a sandstone church built in the Romanesque style in the 10th century. In its place, the construction of a new church began from around 1490 under the Bebenhausen abbot Bernhard Rockenbauch, who came from Magstadt . The style of the choir side tower is late Gothic, the sandstone pointed arches of the windows are particularly beautiful. The church was consecrated in 1511. There are differences about the dedication. It is believed by scholars that it was dedicated to St. George , the Magstadter know their church as St. John the Baptist Church. The church was Catholic for about 25 years, then it became Protestant as the Württemberg Church in the course of the Reformation.
The existing church was once the center of a defense system secured with a triple wall and moat. The inner defensive wall and the fortress wall are still well preserved, especially in the south-eastern part. The church used to be surrounded by the cemetery, where funerals were carried out until the late 17th century. Some gravestones from the 15th-18th centuries Century can be seen around the church.
Today, the church with its mighty tower and four large dials shapes the image of the Magstadt town center.
Natural monuments
The Ratberg is located in the northwest of Magstadt in the direction of Warmbronn . The Ratberg is a flat hill with a diameter of 120 m and a height of 10 m, made of stone sandstone . The Ratberg was created by reversing the relief .
It bears the name Ratberg, because the Alemanni held council on it when they began to populate the area around Magstadt.
