Maija Manesa ( Kazakh Майя Манеза ; Russian Майя Манеза ; born November 1, 1985 in Tokmok , Kyrgyz SSR , USSR ) is a Kazakh weightlifter of Dungan origin. In 2009 she became world champion in the duel in the weight class up to 63 kg body weight.

Career

Maija Manesa was born in Kyrgyzstan and lived in Beijing (China) for many years . In 2007 she moved to Kazakhstan together with Sülfija Tschinschanlo and acquired citizenship there.

The first competition in which she has demonstrably participated was the Asian Championships in Taldyqorghan / Kazakhstan . She finished there with a performance of 229 kg (98-131) in a duel in third place behind Liu Xia from China , 231 kg and O Jong Ae, North Korea , 229 kg. Her victory at the 2009 World Cup in Goyang / South Korea is all the more surprising . She was in third place after the break with a performance of 105 kg, but overtook the athletes Swetlana Zarukajewa , Russia and Sibel Şimşek , Turkey , who were in front of her , with an excellent performance in the push, where she achieved 141 kg, thus 246 kg The duel reached and Zarukajewa, who also achieved 246 kg, but was slightly heavier than Maija Manesa and Sibel Şimşek, who came to 243 kg, beat.

In June 2016 it was announced that Mánesa that in the Olympic Games of 2012 in London had come in the first place, doping had taken. She was stripped of the gold medal.
