Quota places

At the 2006 and 2007 World Championships, the individual associations were able to win quota places for competitions in Beijing. The associations can then distribute the quota places won to the individual weight classes, with a maximum of two athletes per weight class. Associations that have not yet achieved a quota position can do so in continental eliminations and, if they are successful, achieve a total of two or one place.
