Egypt participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics in the Chinese capital Beijing with 101 athletes, 27 women and 74 men, in 18 sports.

Since 1948 it was the 20th participation of an Egyptian team in the Summer Olympics .

Flag bearer

Wrestler Karam Ibrahim carried the flag of Egypt during the opening ceremony in the national stadium . At the closing ceremony it was worn by the modern pentathlon Amro El Geziry .

Medals

With two bronze medals won the Egyptian team was ranked 81 in the medal count .
