Egypt first took part in summer games at the V Summer Olympics in Stockholm in 1912 . The NOC al-Ladschna al-ulimbiyya al-misriyya had been founded two years earlier and was accepted into the International Olympic Committee . Before that,athleteshad already competedfor Egypt at the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games . In the Swedish capital, the country was represented by an athlete, the fencer Ahmed Mohamed Hassanein. He was accompanied by the Egyptian IOC member Angelo C. Bolanachi .
