Margaret Avery
Margaret Avery (born January 20, 1944 in Mangum , Greer County , Oklahoma ) is an American singer and actress .
In 1985, she was honored for her role as Shug Avery in The Color Purple (The Color Purple) for the Academy Award nominated 1985th The film based on the novel by Alice Walker was made into a film by Steven Spielberg with Whoopi Goldberg .
