Maria Katarzyna Lasatowicz (* 1951 ) is a Polish German linguist , university professor and editor .

Live and act

Maria Katarzyna Lasatowicz was in 1980 at the University of Krakow with a thesis on the firm language in Opole in the 16th century when Aleksander Szulc to Dr. habil. PhD .

She was appointed professor at the University of Opole , where she has been director of the German Institute and Head of the Chair for German Language since 1994 . Her main areas of work are German linguistics, language biographies of Polish residents in Upper Silesia and the state of the German language in the region, particularly in the German language island around Bielsko-Biała .

Maria Katarzyna Lasatowicz is a board member of the Association of Polish Germanists and was elected chairman for three years in 2018.

Together with Marek Zybura , she was the editor of the seven-volume series Opole Contributions to German Studies, which appeared from 1999 to 2004 . In addition, she was co-editor of several volumes in the Prace Germanistyczne / Germanistische Werkstatt (from 1999) and Silesia series. Silesia in the European reference field. Awards
