Marianne Beese

Marianne Beese (born November 25, 1953 in Stralsund ) is a German historian , literary scholar and writer .

Life

Marianne Beese, who lives in Rostock in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, writes poetry , essays, works on Rostock's city history and biographies .

After attending school, she worked as a radio trainee and as an assistant clerk before studying pedagogy in Leipzig . After graduating as a specialist in German and history in 1978, she completed a research course and received her doctorate in 1982 with a thesis on the late poetry of Friedrich Hölderlin . Then she worked literary or literary studies outside the university. From 1991 she worked for women's organizations; From 1995 to 1997 she was a research assistant in the Department of History at the University of Rostock and from 1998 to 1999 she worked at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences in the project "History of Women's Studies in Rostock" and at the Interdisciplinary Center for Women and Gender Studies at the Ernst-Moritz- Arndt University Greifswald in the project “History of women's studies in Greifswald”. In 2011/12 she worked at the Institute for German Literature at the Humboldt University in Berlin as a research assistant in the project “Das Literatur-Blatt des Deutschen Kunstblatt”.
