biography

Marko Vukićević was born to a Serbian mother and a Montenegrin father in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana . He competed for the Slovenian Association until 2012, before he decided to change nations for sporting reasons.

He made his European Cup debut in January 2011 in the Super-G of Méribel , but it took a few years to place in the points for the first time. He achieved this for the first time with 24th place in the downhill from Sarntal in February 2017. At his only Junior World Championship in Roccaraso , he was eliminated in both fast disciplines.

In February 2013, he started a world championship in Schladming for the first time , but could not finish both giant slalom and slalom. At the end of the season he was crowned Serbian giant slalom champion for the first time in the Balkan Mountains . At the Olympic Games in Sochi he was 48th in the Super-G, in the technical disciplines he was eliminated again. On January 15, 2016, Vukićević made his World Cup debut in the combination of Wengen . At the 2017 Universiade in Almaty , finishing fourth in the Super-G, he barely missed his first international medal. As part of the World Championship in St. Moritz , he was able to classify himself in two disciplines for the first time in a major event. In combination and downhill he finished 36th and 40th. In preparation for the Olympic winter, he won the overall ranking of the South American Cup with three races in Chile , in which he has been competing regularly since 2015. At the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang , he competed in all five disciplines. With rank 25 he achieved his best result in the combination, in downhill and giant slalom he was ranked 41, in Super-G and slalom he was eliminated.
