Marley Marl (* the 30th September 1962 in Queens , New York City as Marlon Williams ) is an American music producer and DJ .
biography
Marley Marl grew up in Queensbridge , one of the social hot spots in New York. He produced for rappers like Big Daddy Kane , Lords of the Underground , Biz Markie , Roxanne Shanté , Kool G Rap , MC Shan and Masta Ace and King Tee and LL Cool J .
He also produced the first hits My Melody and Eric B is President by Eric B and Rakim , mixing James Brown samples and synthetic beats in a previously unknown way. Marley Marl was one of the pioneers of sampling in hip hop . He was a member of the legendary Juice Crew and co-founder of the music label Cold Chillin 'Records . He also produced the album Hip Hop Lives with KRS-One .
