Martin Herzog

Martin Herzog (born December 28, 1936 in Schramberg ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from high school, Herzog studied law and political science in Tübingen , passed both state legal examinations and then entered the higher administrative service. During his studies he became a member of the AV Cheruskia Tübingen in the CV . He joined the CDU and from 1973 to 1978 was the first district administrator of the Lake Constance district newly formed by the district reform of 1973 .

From 1978 to 1985 he was Lord Mayor of Friedrichshafen .

On December 11, 1984, Herzog was appointed to the state government led by Prime Minister Lothar Späth as the successor to the late Rudolf Eberle as Baden-Württemberg's Minister for Economics, Medium-Sized Enterprises and Technology . In 1988 he also received a member of parliament , which he gave up on September 30, 1989 (successor was Christa Vossschulte ). During his tenure, he and the Prime Minister agreed to establish a business center for medium-sized industry in Budapest. He resigned from the government on September 26, 1989, then worked as managing director of a felt cloth factory and in the automotive industry (including one of the managing directors of the Association of the Automotive Industry from 1992 to 1997 ) and received an honorary professorship at the West Saxon University of Zwickau .
