Matthias Karbowski (born January 21, 1983 ) is a former German handball player who scored a total of 105 goals in 60 Bundesliga appearances. He also worked as a handball coach at SV Henstedt-Ulzburg .

Career

Karbowski initially ran for the regional division TSV Ellerbek . In November 2002, the then youth national player moved to the Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg , but he was still eligible to play for TSV Ellerbek . On May 21, 2003 he scored 16 goals in a Bundesliga game against SC Magdeburg . From the following season he had a second game right at the second division TSV Altenholz . In December 2005 Karbowski left HSV Hamburg and then went hunting for goals for TSV Altenholz. When the left-hander set up his own physiotherapy center in 2009  , he ended his professional career and joined the SV Henstedt-Ulzburg league club . From 2010 he joined Henstedt-Ulzburg in the 3rd division . After Karbowski rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with the SVHU, he took a break. In the 2013/14 season he was back on the Henstedt-Ulzburg squad. After Tobias Skerka resigned from his position as trainer from Henstedt-Ulzburg, he took over this position together with Amen Gafsi and ended his active career. After the 2015/16 season, he ended his coaching work at SVHU. From the 2016/17 season he played for the Hamburg division HTS / BW96. After Karbowski worked there as a player-coach in the 2017/18 season, he then concentrated on his coaching activities.
