Matthias Raue (born August 27, 1952 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German composer and musician .

Life

Raue studied school music and for another four years in Berlin composition with Isang Yun. In addition to compositions for television ( Löwenzahn , Rußfahrt mit Huhn ), Raue has performed theater music for the TAT Frankfurt and ballet music for the Stadttheater Würzburg, Darmstadt, Mannheim, Alte Oper Frankfurt and a musical (performed at the Ohio Theater in Manhattan , New York, and in the State Theater Stuttgart ).

Raue is a producer, arranger and composer. Together with Ulla Meinecke , Klaus Hoffmann and Konrad Beikircher , he went on tour as a musician . In his compositional spectrum, which ranges from simple songs to avant-garde music, he crosses the boundaries between the individual genres. Raue lived for a few years in New York , where he still has a branch today. In 1982 he founded the music publisher Tanit and a Gutleut music studio in Frankfurt am Main. He teaches film composition at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg . In 2008 he was appointed professor there.

Many of the film scores were created in collaboration with the composer Martin Cyrus . The best known of his compositions is the theme music for the television series Löwenzahn . Since the first collaboration with Jerusalem, Jerusalem in 1977, Matthias Raue has been responsible for the soundtrack for Berengar Pfahl's films .

Raue has been a member of the acoustic band Die Kammer since June 14, 2014 .

Raue is married to Pernilla Raue. He lives and works in Frankfurt am Main and Bern .
