Adelheid and their murderers is a German crime series with Evelyn Hamann in the lead role. Hamann played the secretary Adelheid Möbius , who works in the Murder Commission Two of the Hamburg criminal police.

The series was produced from 1992 to 2006 by the new German film company on behalf of Norddeutscher Rundfunk . Directed by Ulrich Stark (6 episodes, 1993–1996), Arend Agthe (6 episodes, 1998–1999), Claus-Michael Rohne (20 episodes, 1996–2001), Stephan Meyer (8 episodes, 2003–2005) and Stefan Bartmann (26 episodes, 2000-2007). In 2003 there was a 45-minute special with Adelheid committed - behind the scenes of “Adelheid and her murderers” .

action

Each episode of the series is about a murder case that the 2nd homicide squad, called Mord Zwo , is supposed to solve. Although only employed as a secretary, Adelheid has made it her hobby to identify the perpetrator herself. The only exception is episode no. 23 (“Special Operations”), in which, with the help of Adelheid, a bank robbery and hostage-taking are peacefully ended. Your superior, Chief Detective Ewald Strobel , usually tries to hide the details of the case from Adelheid and to solve the case without her help. Nevertheless, Adelheid gets a chance, searches the scene of the crime, secretly hears (and mostly under the pretense of being an investigator) witnesses and discovers clues that her colleagues have overlooked. Together with her ex-husband Eugen Möbius , who works on the patrol for the Hamburg police and regularly has to commit violations of duty for the hobby of his ex-wife, who is still loved by him, she solves the cases while Inspector Strobel is still groping in the dark.

Likewise, Adelheid often finds himself in a dangerous situation by the perpetrator at the end of her investigation, from which she can only be freed through the heroic efforts of her colleagues and the chief inspector, whom she secretly admires but is criminally hapless. These closing scenes give every episode something forgiving, because in the end things can only come to a good end through the joint efforts of all those involved.

After her divorce from Eugen, Adelheid lives with her mother Rosa Müller-Graf-Kleditsch in a noble apartment in an old building. Holger , the son of Adelheid and Eugen, started training with the police after a few odd jobs, but then emigrated to Marseille / France .

Further characteristics of the series, especially in the 5th season, are the eternal tussles between the Mord Zwo department and the competing Mord Eins and the rivalries between Ewald Strobel and his superior (first Dr. Siegbert Heimeran , then director Ferdinand Dünnwald ). A running gag that recurs in every episode is the dialogues between Adelheid and her mother (Adelheid: "Muddi?" , Mother: "Don't always say Muddi to me" , Adelheid: "All right, Muddi" ). Strobel's penchant for operas and especially Wagner is a quote from Baumann's earlier role in a similar role (head of the homicide squad) as Chief Inspector Sudmann in SOKO 5113 . Furthermore, the actual murders or murderers can no longer be seen in the latest seasons. However, you can see them at the end of each broadcast. While the actual murder was shown in earlier episodes, only the recovery of the corpse can be seen in later episodes.

Otherwise, Commissioner Dieter Pohl also worked in Mord Zwo , who was left by his former friend Marion shortly after the wedding and later married Wichtrud Schaller from Mord Eins . Then there was Inspector Gernot Schubert , who wanted to avoid his duty by constantly reporting sick leave and taking cures, but also by having extraordinary talents, such as B. golf or photography . Inspector Ralf Schilling , who came as a substitute for Schubert, was often treated from above and disregarded by Strobel. In the first season the coroner Dr. Dochnal before, who was later followed by the sporadic Dr. Wagner was replaced. And last but not least, there was Dünnwald's rebellious and curious secretary Mrs. Kölmel in the fifth season.

In the early days, the Studio Hamburg office building on Mendelssohnstrasse in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld served as the outside backdrop for the police station , which is also used as an outside and inside backdrop for the ARD series Großstadtrevier .

Abrupt end

The series came to an unexpected end on October 28, 2007 after Evelyn Hamann's sudden death from cancer. However, further episodes had been in question for a long time, as the main actress had asked for a break from filming due to her health condition, but this was kept secret from the public. Since it was foreseeable from the outset that a replacement for Adelheid would meet with great rejection, it was decided to discontinue the series. In 2006 the last shot fell in Hamburg, in 2007 the last episodes filmed were broadcast.

The series Alles Klara continues the pattern of action “Clever secretary of a commissioner's office solves the case”.
