Max Aicher (born March 21, 1934 in Bad Reichenhall ) is a German entrepreneur. He built the Max Aicher group of companies based in Freilassing .

Aicher completed his civil engineering studies with a diploma. He then successfully completed his legal clerkship at the Bavarian State Administration in Munich and graduated as a government architect. In 1964, at the age of 30, he took over the management of the medium-sized construction business founded by his father, Max senior, in Freilassing in 1924. To further expand the company and diversify into further activities, he acquired the bankrupt Annahütte steelworks in Hammerau in 1975 , which he successfully renovated. Further takeovers of steelworks in Bavaria followed: from 1975 the Lech steelworks in Meitingen and from 1994 the Maxhütte steelworks in Sulzbach-Rosenberg . The latter was closed in 2002. Further steel manufacturing and processing plants were acquired in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia and Canada. As a third business area, with Max Aicher GmbH founded in 1985 (since 2009 Max-Aicher Umwelt GmbH ), the environment and recycling area was expanded with several locations in Germany from 1989 with a focus on slag and waste recycling . The group of companies also owns extensive real estate. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, the turnover of the Max Aicher group of companies in 2010 was around EUR 1.5 billion and around 3,000 people were employed.

Aicher, who was the sole owner of the group until 2014, contributed all of the shares to a family foundation named after him on the occasion of his 80th birthday . He remains active in corporate management. He also supports numerous charitable and sporting activities in the region. He is the namesake and sponsor of the Max Aicher Arena , the ice rink in Inzell .
