Max Endres

Max Endres (born April 3, 1860 in Großhabersdorf , † November 9, 1940 in Munich ) was a German forest scientist .

Life

Endres studied at the Aschaffenburg Forestry University . In 1879 he became active in the Corps Arminia Munich . In 1884 he received his doctorate in Munich . Then he suggested an academic career at the Polytechnic of Karlsruhe , where he in 1888 to associate professor and 1891 o. Professor was appointed. In 1895 he followed a call to Munich, where he taught forest policy and forest business management until 1930. In 1907 he was rector of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Endres was a member of the Reich Forestry Council , the Provisional Reich Economic Council and the German Forest Association . His students include Kurt Mantel , Karl Hasel and Kurt Lindner .

He was married since 1890 to Alexandrina ("Sasha") Nokk, the daughter of Wilhelm Nokk . The couple had two sons, including the engineer Wilhelm Endres (1893–1986).
