Maximilian August von Schmieden

Maximilian August von Schmieden (born March 11, 1817 in Le Quesnois , † September 24, 1893 in Niederlößnitz ) was a Saxon major general .

Life

He belonged to from the Oberlausitz originating noble family of blacksmiths on.

Schmieden joined the Saxon Army and was a major in June 1866, commander of the 13th Infantry Battalion. From April 1, 1867 to May 18, 1869 he was Colonel in command of the 6th Infantry Regiment . With the resignation he received the appointment to major general.

He sat down in the Niederlößnitz at the gates of Dresden to rest, where he 1869 in the Winzerstraße 48 (register number 87, property of House Clauß lived) and in 1872 diagonally opposite on the south side of the road a listed today Cottage (Winzerstraße 43) build let. Schmieden, like his wife and son later, was buried in the New Cemetery in Kötzschenbroda .

Schmieden married Berta Mathilde von Germar (1833–1926), daughter of Kurt Ewald von Germar (1793–1875), in May 1859 in Kötzschenbroda , with whom he had their son August von Schmieden (1860–1939). He also became a soldier, most recently lieutenant general.
