Merle Hoch (born November 13, 1982 in Hanover ) is a German musical performer ( soprano ).

Hoch is the daughter of two teachers and has a brother. She took ballet lessons from the age of six . She completed her A- levels at the Wilhelm Raabe School in Hanover and began studying mathematics for a few semesters . Later she studied instead at the Folkwang University of the Arts , headquartered in Essen . She completed this course after eight semesters as a qualified stage actress for musicals and drama. This was followed by postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London , which she completed with honors.

She played, among others, the witch Hillary for the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and at the United Theaters in Bozen, the Crissy in Hair and the Betty Schaefer in Sunset Boulevard . In London she played Nora in A Doll's Life and at Sir Jack Lion's Theater Fran Kubelik in Promises, Promises . From 2013 to 2016 she played the main character of Jane Porter in the musical Tarzan in the first cast, first in Hamburg's Neue Flora and later in the Apollo Theater in Stuttgart . In 2018, Hoch received a role in Singin 'in the Rain at the Lüneburg Theater.
