The Messerschmitt M35 was a sport aircraft designed by the German aircraft designer Willy Messerschmitt in 1934 .
history
The M35 was created in 1933 as an aerobatic aircraft . The first copy ( D-2772
) had its maiden flight in spring 1933 with the works pilot Erwin Aichele. There were two versions. Only three of the M35a were built, the first two machines being equipped with an Argus As-8-B engine and the last with an Argus As 17A. The M35b, however, had a Siemens-Halske Sh 14A . Willi Stör and Vera von Bissing made this aircraft famous around the world by winning numerous championships (for example the German aerobatic championship in 1935 and 1936).
construction
The M35 was a single-engine, two-seat low-wing aircraft in composite construction . The wings were designed as a two-part, single-spar wooden wing with a torsionally rigid plywood nose, with plywood being used on the upper side up to the spar and the rear wing being covered with fabric. The engine used was an Argus As 8 B in- line engine with 150 hp or a Siemens and Halske Sh 14A-4 with inverted flight carburetor for aerobatics . The chassis with the covered wheels and the air suspension came from the M 29 . The front seat was covered for competitions.
