Meta Janssen-Kucz (born August 11, 1961 in Klein-Remels , Uplengen ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament . From May 2014 to November 2017 she was state chairwoman of the Lower Saxony Greens . She has been Vice President of the Lower Saxony State Parliament since November 2017.

Life

After completing secondary school, Janssen-Kucz attended the one-year vocational school for domestic economics in Rostrup . After an internship in curative care in the St. Lukas Home in Papenburg , she went to the technical college in Emden, department of social affairs and then studied at the technical college Braunschweig / Wolfenbüttel . Between 1986 and 1996 she worked as a social worker, since 1991 at the youth welfare office in Leer. Since May 2009 she has headed the Europahaus Aurich - German-Dutch Heimvolkshochschule eV

Meta Janssen-Kucz lives in Leer (East Friesland) , is married and has two children.

Janssen-Kucz has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1993 . From 1995 to 1997 she was state chairwoman. From 1991 to 1998 she was councilor of the Moormerland community and from 1994 to 1998 chairwoman of the local Green parliamentary group. Since 2001 she has been a member of the district council of the district of Leer .

From 1998 to 2008 Meta Janssen-Kucz was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. In the state elections in 2008 , she missed the re-entry into the state parliament and landed at number 1 on the list of successors. After Ralf Briese's death , she has been a member of the state parliament again since 2011.

In May 2014 Janssen-Kucz was elected chairman of the regional association alongside Jan Haude and was confirmed in office in February 2015.
